Walk for the Environment 2010
 

If you want to support CA’s environmental protection work and feel the pulse of the ecology with your feet, please join our Walk for the Environment 2010 on 11th April on Lantau Island! We will walk through interesting spots like villages with over 100 years of history, freshwater fishes’ heaven, silver mine back in the Tongzhi era of Qing Dynasty and more. In addition, there will be information checkpoints with tour guides to introduce to you the fun side of the ecology, geology, history and culture of the Island. We will give you a meaningful green Sunday. Every participant will receive a delicate guide book and make his/her own green souvenir at the Nature’s Workshop.

Date: 11th April, 2010 (Sunday)

Registration time: 9:30 – 10:30 am
[To prevent overcrowding, the organiser will divide participants in batches with different starting time]

Registration area: The Square, Citygate Outlets, Tung Chung (Exit B, MTR Tung Chung Station)
[The organiser will provide coaches to pick up participants to the starting point]

Starting Point: Pak Mong Village, Tung Chung

End Point: Pak Ngan Heung Village, Mui Wo
[Note: The organiser will not arrange transportation for return. Participants can return to Tung Chung by bus or go to Central by Ferry.]

Minimum fundraising amount for Individual/Group (2-7 persons) participants:

  • Adult: $500 for each participant
  • Full-time Student: $250 for each participant

Minimum fundraising amount for Group (8 persons or above) participants:

  • Adult: $400 for each participant
  • Full-time Student: $200 for each participant

Hong Kong Flower Show 2010

Hong Kong Flower Show 2010 will be held from 19th March (Friday) to 28th March (Sunday) at Victoria Park in Causeway Bay. The Conservancy Association will participate again this year to promote tree conservation through exhibition boards and games in the stall. Let’s come and visit us!

Eco-trails in Kowloon and New-Territories:

Recruitment of Eco-guides Training (April 2010)

Do you enjoy the nature, culture and history of Hong Kong? Do you like to share interesting knowledge with others? If so, please keep an eye on our upcoming “Eco-trails in Kowloon and New-Territories: Eco-guides Training”! 

Funded by the Environment and Conservation Fund (ECF), Eco-trails in Kowloon and New-Territories is a brand new project in 2010. In the project, we will establish one eco-route in the Yau Ma Tei, Tsim Sha Tsui and Mong Kok (YTM) District, and one in the Yuen Long District. In addition, we are going to train 60 eco-guides to lead the tours. Basic information of the Eco-guide Training is as follows:

2.    passionate about the nature, culture and history of Hong Kong (preferably from YTM District and Yuen Long District)
