Biogas Toilet Project launching in Yunnan agricultural villages A new round of the Biogas Toilet Project in rural villages of Yunnan will be launched in late January. After the great success in Luxi and Yanshan, we push forward the project this year to three villages in Tengchong and Xishuangbanna with the continuous sponsorships from Hang Seng Bank. The quantity of biogas toilets will surge from 300 to 600, which will benefit up to 2,400 villagers. |
||
|
Shuanghai Village of Tengchong - every family collect firewood for making fire |
Manzhao Village of Xishuangbanna - villagers cook inside the house using firewood as fuel |
Manzhao Village of Xishuangbanna - a very simple pig stable |
| With the Biogas Toilet Project the farmers living in backward villages can enjoy a more stable energy source. We will help every family to build underground methane pools connected to their toilets and pig stables for collecting human and pig feces. Under anaerobic environment the feces will ferment and produce methane, a gas fuel for villagers to cope with daily energy consuption. The Project is scheduled to complete in May or June, and we will keep you updated with the project progress. Please stay tuned! | ||
